What did you have for breakfast this morning? A bagel with strawberry jam and an english breakfast tea with honey.
-
How long have you been Cake Decorating for? Since Dec 2020 – so just over a year
-
Why did you choose Cake Decorating? I’ve always been a creative person. The moment I made my first batch of decorated cookies, I was hooked!
-
In times of doubt, what do you do to get back into your creative zone? If I ever feel overwhelmed or like I’m having a creative block, I stop and take a breather. Sometimes going for a walk around the block, or even just stopping for an hour or 2 can really help get me back in the zone. Scrolling through my saved images/Pinterest boards also helps with getting the creative juices flowing again.
-
Where did you learn your Cake Decorating skills? I’m completely self-taught. Although I do owe a lot to Google & YouTube!
-
What is your typical day like, what does it entail? I wake up, take the little ones to preschool, come home for breakfast and then get straight into it. Each day is different – one day I’m baking, the next I’m decorating and photo taking, the next I’m on packing duties and trying my best to stay on top of admin. I’m a one woman show so I’m constantly multitasking and chasing my tail!
-
We know Edible Art Paint is a medium you use, what do you love about it? What’s not to love? There’s every colour under the rainbow and more in the Edible Art range, which makes it super helpful when adding those special hand painted details to a set !
-
What is your #1 piece of advice for the newbies in Cake Decorating? Practice, Practice, Practice. The more you do, the better you become. I learnt so much in my first year. From getting the cookie dough right through to handling fondant to up skilling techniques. You know what they say… ‘practice makes perfect’.
-
Who is your inspiration in the Cake Decorating world - name three (TAG THEM) Oh boy, there are so many talented and inspiring people in the industry, it’s so hard to name just three. I’d have to say @arloscookies, @sweetbloomcakes and @coco_peony_ are three of my biggest inspirations. I’m constantly in awe of their work.

What is your favourite Sweet Sticks product and colour? Definitely the Edible Art Paint range. Favourite colours would have to be a tie between Champagne Gold and Lilac.
